Private Label Cosmetics Colombia — Low MOQ from 250 Units
Launch your own cosmetic brand with professionally formulated products, your logo and packaging, and minimums as low as 250 units per SKU.
What Is Private Label Cosmetics?
Private label cosmetics is a business model in which you — the brand owner — sell finished cosmetic products manufactured by a third party, Laboratorios Tecnolabs, under your own brand name and packaging. Unlike buying generic retail products and reselling them, private label gives you a formulated, tested, and regulatory-approved product that is exclusively yours: your name, your design, your story.
This model is now the engine behind thousands of successful beauty brands worldwide, from indie DTC startups to major retail chains, because it lets you focus entirely on marketing and customer experience while we handle the science, production, and compliance.
How the Private Label Process Works
Our streamlined private label process has been refined across hundreds of product launches for Colombian and international brands:
- Product Selection: You choose from our catalog of pre-validated base formulas across dozens of categories — creams, serums, shampoos, body lotions, sunscreens, lip care, and more. Alternatively, you can request a custom formula (see our Custom Formula Development service).
- Personalization: We adjust fragrance, color, texture, and active ingredient concentration to differentiate your product within the base formula structure, staying within validated safety parameters.
- Packaging Selection: Choose from our stock packaging library — airless pumps, tubes, glass jars, dropper bottles — or supply your own custom packaging. We provide filling and labeling as part of the service.
- Label and Artwork: Your graphic designer provides print-ready artwork (or our team creates it for an additional fee). We verify that all label claims comply with INVIMA requirements before printing.
- Regulatory Registration: We file INVIMA notification for every product, which is mandatory for legal cosmetic commerce in Colombia and recognized across the Andean Community (Ecuador, Peru, Bolivia).
- Production and Delivery: Batches are manufactured, filled, and packed in our GMP-certified facility. You receive finished goods with full batch records and Certificate of Analysis.
OEM vs. ODM: What Is the Difference?
These two terms are often confused. OEM (Original Equipment Manufacturer) means you provide the formula and Tecnolabs manufactures it for you — you own the formula IP. ODM (Original Design Manufacturer) means Tecnolabs provides the base formula and you brand it as your own — faster to market, no R&D cost, but you do not own the underlying formula. Our private label service is primarily ODM-based, with the option to upgrade to a proprietary custom formula at any stage.

Timeline from Order to Delivery
Our standard private label timeline for brands choosing from existing base formulas:
- Week 1–2: Product selection, personalization brief, packaging confirmation, artwork submission
- Week 3–4: Sample batch produced, label proof sent for approval
- Week 5–6: INVIMA notification filed, final artwork approved, production scheduled
- Week 7–8: Full production run completed, QC testing performed, CoA issued
- Week 9: Finished goods packed and ready for pickup or delivery
Custom formula projects add 4–6 weeks for R&D and stability testing before the above timeline begins.
Frequently Asked Questions
Do I need to have my own packaging to start?
No. We maintain a stock packaging library with dozens of container options — bottles, jars, tubes, pumps — that you can select during the brief. Using stock packaging speeds up production and keeps your MOQ as low as 250 units. Custom branded packaging is available as an upgrade for larger orders.
Can I sell private label products on Amazon or internationally?
Yes, with proper documentation. For international sales, we provide the technical dossier, safety data sheet, and CoA needed for FDA registration (USA), EU CPNP notification, or other market filings. We do not file these on your behalf by default, but we prepare all the documentation your regulatory consultant will need.
What happens if I want to switch to a proprietary formula later?
Many brands start with a private label ODM product and then invest in a custom formula once they have validated market demand. We make this transition seamless — your existing product continues in production while R&D works on your exclusive formula. There is no penalty for switching, and we can design the new formula to be a drop-in replacement for your current product.
